Technical Notes:

Cold Well Performance:

Designed cold well temperature: -105°C. During a no-load test (drum manifold empty, all Quickseal valves closed), the unit cooled rapidly and reached -106°C, meeting the manufacturer's design specification.

 

Vacuum System:

The unit was tested with an Edwards RV8 vacuum pump (OEM pump not included). Ultimate pressure measured ~3 microns (3 mTorr), with pump oil observed clear — indicating a healthy, well-maintained pump.

 

During the no-load system test, vacuum reached 16 mTorr. Time-to-100-mTorr was approximately 3 minutes (measured immediately following a completed cycle). With the pump isolated, system pressure rose from 16 mTorr to 43 mTorr over one hour, demonstrating good chamber and seal integrity. When auto mode is disabled, the gas release valve opens automatically to safely vent the system.

 

Seals & Gaskets:

All sealing gaskets and O-rings were visually inspected and confirmed to be in proper working condition.

The nameplate does not list a manufacture date; based on inspection of the chamber, the estimated DOM is December 2018.
