Founded by scientists and researchers, Alternative Lab Source understands how cost-prohibitive research equipment can be. We provide you with the option of acquiring functional pre-owned equipment and brand-new equipment at an affordable price.

We only accept domestic orders (USA) through our online store. However, we may still accept orders from international buyers on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to contact us and make inquiries. 

Premium Pre-owned is our best line of pre-owned products by condition. New, open-box items are also included in this collection. All products within this collection have been extensively tested by our technicians (unless it is considered new, open-box) and passed key functionality tests. They are also in decent cosmetic condition. 

Within the Value Pre-owned collection are products that either we were not able to fully test due to various reasons such as missing accessories, software, etc., or we found defects not severe enough to be considered non-functional. These products are generally on deep discount. 

Products in both collections are covered by our 30-Day Return. Premium Pre-owned products are also backed by our 60-Day Warranty. 

Eligibilities for 30-Day Return or 60-Day Warranty are clearly labeled on each product page. Generally, we accept returns with full refunds (including shipping costs) within 30 days of item delivery if there is a problem with the order, such as shipping damage, missing parts, wrong item sent, etc. See our Refund Policy for more details.

In cases where there is no issue with the order, you could still request a return, but the customer is responsible for the shipping cost both ways. See our Refund Policy for more details.

Yes and no. We have competitive pricing, so the room for discount is small. However, we can work with you to come up with an acquisition plan that fits your budget on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to contact us.

The exact shipping charge will be added during checkout. We have a flat shipping charge structure based on the shipment weight and dimensions. See our Shipping Policy for more details. For high-value items, we may also purchase shipping insurance, but the cost is on us! 

Small items (less than 2 pounds and smaller than 9'' x 6'' x 6'') ship free!

By default, all items are shipped through UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or USPS Ground Advantage, except for extra large items, which require freight shipping.
