The FlexStation® 3 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader measures absorbance, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, luminescence, and time-resolved fluorescence. Programmable liquid handling allows for perfectly timed, automated biochemical and cell-based assays. The reader adds up to three transfers of assay reagents from a 96- or 384-well source plate to enhance assay design using integrated fluidics.

Technical Notes

The unit was successfully connected to a laptop loaded with Softmax Pro 7 software (perpetual license). We completed the absorbance and fluorescence validation test with ABS1 and FL1 validation plates, respectively. See the result in the video. While the unit passed most of the tests, there were a few tests such as kinetics were out of specification. We are not sure whether it is due to lamp deterioration or something else.

The fluidic module is configured for 96-well plates. We tested the fluid transfer and found the system to be in proper working condition. See video for demo.
