Vacufuge Concentrator Model 5301 concentrates DNA/RNA, nucleotides, proteins, and other samples quickly. Narrow, 13-inch width saves valuable bench space. Motorless drive and sealed chamber provide trouble-free operation. Operates quietly at (C1779-2A) has an AC receptacle in the rear for connection to a vacuum source. All pump functions, including vacuum release and evaporation modes, are fully controlled by the concentrator. The Vacufuge Concentrator is available as a complete system (C1779-1A) with solvent-resistant PTFE vacuum pump and vapor trap or as a basic unit for connection to an existing vacuum source and trap. Both models ship with 48 x 1.5/2.0mL Fixed-angle Rotor.

Technical Notes

Powers on. Lid lock works. Heats up quickly. The unit runs quietly when started. The vacuum pump kicked in. Tested vacuum with an independent micron gauge and achieved a reading 11 Torr, which is about 98.5% vacuum. The sealing gasket appears to be in good condition. Rotor not included

Defects

Scratch on the plastic at the front panel which smeared some labels. Cracked housing near vent at the back of the unit.
