Refrigerated Model 5417R features CFC-free cooling in a compact, front-to-back design that saves valuable bench space and can accommodate a variety of microcentrifuge rotors to extend application range. 30-place capacity. Compact footprint, less than 13 inches wide. Variable-speed, brushless motor for maintenance-free operation. Speed setting and display in either rpm or RCF increments. Adjustable-speed "momentary" button for quick spins. "Soft Start/Stop" function protects delicate samples. Choice of five interchangeable, autoclavable rotors. Technical Notes

The unit cools fast. Tested spinning up to the highest rpm. Spins smoothly and quietly. Checked the chamber temperature with an independent thermometer, and the chamber is very cold. However, the temperature displayed by the unit was quite a bit higher.

Internal thermometer may be off. Reading may be higher than the actual temperature
