Technical Notes

The ultimate vacuum of the system was tested with a micron gauge and found to be around 10 mbar. When pump is turned off, the vacuum level rises slowly. The accuracy of the V-850 vacuum gauge was checked with a reference gauge and found to be proper. The automatic control was tested and found to be working properly.

Defects

The gas ballast valve at the closed position does not seem to as tight as it should. The ultimate vacuum of 10 mbar was achieved when the gas ballast valve was bypassed. When it is not bypassed, the ultimate vacuum when the gas ballast valve is closed is around 50 mbar.
