Technical Notes

Calibration: the V-850 vacuum gauge was calibrated using the simple calibration method (6 pressure points: normal, 800 mbar, 600 mbar, 400 mbar, 200 mbar, 10 mbar) and an independent reference vacuum gauge. The accuracy was then checked with a reference gauge and found to be proper.

Testing: the ultimate vacuum of the system was tested with a micron gauge and found to be around 20 mbar. This is slightly lower than the ultimate vacuum of V-700 pump (<10 mbar), but we consider it proper for the whole vacuum system. When pump is turned off, the vacuum level rises slowly. The automatic control was tested and found to be working properly.
