The Advanced Instruments Model 3250 Single-Sample Osmometer determines the osmolality of solutions using freezing point depression (FPD). Ideal for serum, urine or other bodily fluids in clinical applications; and media or formulations in pharmaceutical, biotech or industrial applications.

Automated, single sample, designed to process a 200-250 μL sample, and two-minute test time. The Model 3250 provides the best accuracy and precision in the market today.

Technical Notes

The unit initialized successful and passed self self-diagnostic. We calibrated the machine in the low range using 100 and 1500 mOsm/kg standards. We then validated the machine with a Clinitrol 290 Reference solution. See video for details. Printer works as intended.

After some repeated testing, we noticed a bit of a grinding sound at the lead screw that moves the head up and down. Adding some lubricating oil or grease solves the problem.
